Welcome to Rufus Records – an adventurous Australian jazz label

News
School’s back, most employees have also returned to work (at least in Australia), so welcome to the real New Year 2014!

Coming soon is a new double–piano CD featuring Alister Spence and Myra Melford. More on that later.

To introduce new visitors to a range of sounds, Rufus Records is offering its Soundtrack compilations, Spellbound Sea, Theme Park, and Open Road, at a much-reduced price.

The 25 track 2-CD compilation Samurai Spirit is also reduced, and $2.20 of the $12 price goes to Japan Red Cross for much-needed ongoing Earthquake and Tsunami relief.

These CDs introduce you to a wide variety of the best of Australian jazz and improvised music.

For high–quality music from other shores, two early CDs from pianist John Stetch, a Canadian of Ukrainian descent now playing and teaching in New York, are offered at a good discount. Stetch is an acclaimed pianist and composer whose technique and imagination are springboards for music that shows a rich personal musical heritage. Carpathian Blues and Stetching Out are excellent introductions to his approach.

Due to increased international postage charges, these prices are available for Australian destinations only.

International listeners will find an option to order which adds $3.50 towards postage and packaging.
